HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man found deceased on John Baker Road in Fieldale on December 5, 2020.

The case is being investigated as a homicide after the man was discovered with an apparent gunshot wound.

Despite efforts, including DNA analysis by the chief medical examiner and a nationwide inquiry, the man’s identity remains unknown.

No identifying information was found on the individual, and all attempts to link him to missing persons or other cases have been unsuccessful, according to authorities.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case or the individual’s identity to come forward.

“Your assistance could prove critical in bringing clarity to this case and providing closure for the deceased individual’s loved ones,” Captain of Investigations Sandy Hines wrote in a news release on January 9.

The CrimeStoppers program offers rewards of up to $2,500 for information that aids in solving crimes.
