PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Two men are dead following a farming equipment accident in Pittsylvania County.
Crews were dispatched around 4 p.m. to the 5000 block of Dry Fork Road for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, deputies found two unresponsive men, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the agricultural equipment being used by the men accidentally made contact with high-voltage power lines, resulting in their deaths, according to Pittsylvania County Sheriff Mike Taylor.
The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Juan Arizmendi of Dry Fork Road in Dry Fork and 67-year-old Phillip Hylton of Hylton Lane in Dry Fork.
The bodies were transported to the medical examiner’s office, where the cause and manner of death will be determined.
Sheriff Taylor stated that his office is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident and the relationship between the two men.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and community,” Sheriff Taylor said.
