HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Jim Adams announced his candidacy for re-election to the Henry County Board of Supervisors on February 3.
Adams, the current chairman, has served on the board since 2002 representing the Blackberry District.
In a news release, he wrote about the county’s resilience through recent challenges, citing strong fiscal management as a key factor in maintaining economic stability.
“Henry County’s strong financial position allows it to participate in economic development, match grants, and solidify infrastructure that puts us ahead of other localities,” Adams said in the release.
Adams said economic development remains a top priority and that there are ongoing efforts to expand the Commonwealth Crossing Business Center and support job creation.
Adams serves as chairman of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission and the regional Transportation Technical Advisory Committee.
He is also involved in local organizations, including the Bassett Kiwanis Club, Patrick Henry Volunteer Fire Department, and the Fuller Center for Housing.
“Our greatest resource has been and remains our people. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving them,” Adams wrote.
Adams can be reached via email at jadams@henrycountyva.gov or by phone at 276-629-8543.
