HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The suspect in an armed robbery at a GameStop store has been apprehended in Danville.

The robbery occurred on February 7, when the suspect entered the store on Commonwealth Boulevard, brandished a handgun at an employee, and demanded money.

Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis said that after taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot.

Through the course of the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Richard Rotunda, 39.

Authorities later received information that Rotunda had traveled to Danville.

The Danville Police Department, acting on the tip, located Rotunda outside Caesars Virginia and took him into custody without incident.

Sheriff Davis said officers discovered cash and a fake handgun concealed on him.

Davis thanked the Martinsville Police Department and Danville Police for their assistance.

He also thanked media partners for quickly getting information out to the public.

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a GameStop store.

According to Sheriff Wayne Davis, the incident occurred at around 6:40 p.m. on February 7, when a white male entered the store on Commonwealth Boulevard, brandished a handgun at an employee, and demanded money.

After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect has been identified as Richard Rotunda, 39, described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Authorities are actively seeking Rotunda and ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 9-1-1 immediately.
