NELSON COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Investigators in Nelson County have reopened a nearly three-decade-old missing person’s case.
The case is now being investigated as a homicide following new developments.
Jeffrey Lee Quick, of Nelson County, was reported missing on May 23, 1998, and no leads materialized in the initial investigation, according to Nelson County Sheriff Mark Embre.
Recently, investigators re-conducted interviews with individuals connected to the case and found new details that suggest Quick was the victim of a homicide on or around May 22, 1998.
Sheriff Embre now believes with high confidence that Quick’s remains are located in the Bassett area of Henry County.
The Sheriff is asking the public, particularly those in the Henry County area, for any information related to Quick’s disappearance.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Chip Woody at (434) 263-7069.
