FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — On February 20, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, conducted an investigation involving a suspicious package sent through the mail.

Following the investigation, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3800 block of Wirtz Road.

The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 15 grams of meth and criminal charges against a man.

David Robert Valdez, 39, of Wirtz, was arrested at the scene and charged with one felony count of intent to distribute meth in excess of 10 grams.

Valdez is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $7,500 secured bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
