DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Danville Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred on February 25.

The incidents took place in the parking lot of the Danville Family YMCA on Riverside Drive.

Officers said they responded around 10:30 p.m. after victims reported that their car windows were shattered and personal items were stolen.

Surveillance footage shows two males exiting a white SUV and peering into vehicles before breaking into them and taking belongings, according to authorities.

The SUV was seen looping through the parking lot several times before the thefts occurred.

Shortly after the incidents, credit cards stolen from one of the vehicles were used in Guildford County, North Carolina, police said.

Authorities remind the public to secure personal items out of sight, lock vehicles, and take keys when exiting a car, even if only for a short period.
