ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (rbs news now) — A 54-year-old man was found dead inside an empty industrial compactor container in Rocky Mount on February 27.

At around 4:10 p.m., Rocky Mount Police and Franklin County Public Safety responded to Ply Gem/Cornerstone Building Brands on North Main Street following a report of an unresponsive individual.

Upon arrival, officers said they found Shehta M. Sokr of Rocky Mount deceased inside the industrial container, which was located in a side lot and not in service at the time.

After an on-site investigation, authorities said they found no indications of foul play.

The case has been referred to the regional medical examiner’s office for further forensic examination to determine the cause of death.

The incident remains under active investigation.
