DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A 78-year-old man was found dead inside a residence in Danville on March 7.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Pineview Drive around 4 p.m, where they discovered the body of Arvel Shrewsbury inside the home.

Based on information gathered at the scene, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence.

Authorities later located Jeanette Perez Staton, 58, at another location in the city.

Staton, who was known to Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
