MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Martinsville Police Department is launching a special fundraiser to promote Autism Awareness.
The department is selling limited-edition police patches to support local children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The special edition patches, made from velcro-backed PVC, are available for $10 each.
Police said all proceeds will be donated to two local organizations dedicated to assisting children with autism.
Patches can be purchased at the police department, 55 West Church Street, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Supplies are limited, so supporters are encouraged to act quickly.
Funds raised will be presented in April in recognition of Autism Awareness Month.
Those interested in purchasing a patch or making a donation can visit the department or call 276-638-8751 for more information.
