HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Justin Case has been named the new head wrestling coach at Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC), effective immediately.

Case steps into the role following the departure of Coach Chad Lange, who stepped down last week.

“We are thrilled to have Coach Case leading our wrestling program,” said Brian Henderson, P&HCC Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Athletic Director. “Justin’s passion for the sport, leadership skills, and ability to develop student-athletes on and off the mat make him the perfect fit to take our program to the next level.”

Case, a Martinsville native, has been serving as the Associate Head Coach for P&HCC Wrestling.

As a standout high school wrestler, he earned two North Carolina state placements and captained his team to back-to-back state championships, according to a news release.

After high school, Case enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and wrestled internationally for two years with the All-Marine Wrestling Team.

Following his service, he competed at the Division I level for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned a degree in sports medicine with a minor in coaching.

The release said his coaching philosophy centers on discipline, preparation, and mental toughness—qualities he honed both on the mat and in the Marines.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead the P&HCC wrestling program,” Case said. “I’m excited to continue building on the strong foundation Coach Lange established and helping our student-athletes achieve success both in competition and in life.”

In addition to leading the men’s program, Case will oversee the launch of the women’s wrestling program, set to begin in the Fall.

“I’m especially excited about starting the women’s program—it’s a tremendous opportunity to grow the sport and develop a new generation of champions,” he added.

He is actively recruiting for both teams.
