
COLLINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Investigators in Henry County charged an 18-year-old in a child pornography case.
Deputies executed a search warrant at an apartment on Terry Court in Collinsville on March 22.
A cyber tip was received through the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (SOVA ICAC) Task Force prompting the investigation.
Upon arrival at the apartment, investigators made contact with the suspect in the case, Jabari Trevon Ross, and conducted a search.
A forensic examination of electronic devices conducted found multiple explicit images of prepubescent children in a sexually suggested state, according to investigators.
Other electronic devices were seized and are undergoing forensic analysis.
As a result, Ross was arrested and charged with 12 felony counts of possession of child pornography
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming pending further examination of the evidence.
“The Henry County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting children from exploitation and holding offenders accountable,” Captain Sandy Hines of the Investigations Division wrote in a news release. “The Henry County Sheriff’s Office continues to work closely with the SOVA ICAC Task Force and other law enforcement partners to combat crimes against children.”
