MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Martinsville-Henry County Family YMCA announced on April 30 a new partnership with The Historic Collective to offer complimentary YMCA memberships to residents of three local housing communities.
Under the new initiative, individuals living in Fieldale School Apartments, School Drive Apartments, and Fayette Street Lofts will receive free access to the YMCA’s facilities and programs.
The goal is to eliminate barriers to wellness and expand access to health-focused resources throughout the community, according to a news release from the YMCA.
“At the YMCA, our mission has always been to create opportunities for all individuals to reach their full potential in spirit, mind, and body,” said Brad Kinkema, CEO of the Martinsville-Henry County Family YMCA. “We are thrilled to partner with The Historic Collective to make healthy living more accessible to residents across our area. Together, we are investing in a stronger, healthier community.”
The release said the free memberships will open doors to fitness programs, youth activities, wellness classes, and community engagement opportunities.
