COLLINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A traffic stop in Henry County led to the discovery of illegal drugs, a firearm, and multiple narcotics-related charges for a woman.

On the morning of May 31, a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle displaying fictitious license tags in the 4000 block of Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.

The vehicle was occupied by four individuals.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy observed inconsistencies in the statements of the driver and passengers.

A K-9 unit from the Martinsville Police Department alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics, which led to a search of the vehicle.

During the search, deputies said they discovered a Taurus 9mm handgun, multiple pre-packaged bags of suspected meth, five varieties of pressed pills, colored powder substances, a grocery list, and additional items consistent with narcotics distribution.

Investigators determined that the drugs and firearm belonged to one of the passengers, identified as 26-year-old Terri Lynn Warren of Caswell, North Carolina.

Warren was arrested and charged with:

    • Possession with intent to distribute a schedule I/II substance
    • Possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I/II substance
    • Possession of a concealed weapon

She is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.

    The investigation is ongoing.
