CASCADE, Va. (rbs news now — A woman has been arrested and charged following a shooting that occurred on June 4 in Cascade, according to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Cascade Mill Road around 6:15 a.m. in response to a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found a male victim inside the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by medical personnel and is currently in stable condition.

His identity has not been released.

Investigators say the suspect, 37-year-old Catherine Revel of Cascade, was apprehended following a K-9 track and has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

Authorities confirmed that Revel and the victim were known to each other and lived at the same address.

The Pittsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is assisting with the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Additional charges are pending.

Officials noted that the incident appears to be isolated to the residence and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
