HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The Martinsville-Henry County YMCA has announced extended summer hours for its Bike Barn program.

This is made possible by support from Brightspeed, a fiber broadband builder.

Located at 815 Fisher Street, Martinsville along the scenic Dick & Willie Trail, the Bike Barn offers free bike rentals to the community.

Thanks to Brightspeed’s sponsorship, the YMCA can now expand the program’s availability, making it easier for more people to enjoy cycling this summer, officials said in a news release.

“Brightspeed is committed to expanding access—whether it’s to high-speed internet or healthy, enriching experiences like those offered at the YMCA Bike Barn,” said Sabrina Anderson, Brightspeed local marketing manager. “By supporting extended summer hours, we’re helping create more opportunities for connection, exploration and community—on the trail and online.”

The updated Bike Barn summer hours are:

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Friday: Closed
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Additional hours may be available upon request.
