MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Sheila G. Clark, a longtime employee of the Martinsville Treasurer’s Office, has officially announced her candidacy for Treasurer of the City of Martinsville.
“With 29 years of dedicated service within the Treasurer’s Office, I have proudly contributed in numerous capacities, including fulfilling essential duties in the absence of the Treasurer,” Clark said in a June 23 news release. “My role has allowed me to gain deep institutional knowledge and a strong understanding of the responsibilities required to serve our community with integrity.”
Clark holds a Master Governmental Deputy Treasurer certification through a 15-year continuing education program at the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center.
Her experience includes customer service, staff supervision, reconciliation of bank statements, processing state transactions, and collecting both real estate and personal property taxes, according to the release.
In addition to her government service, Clark has worked part-time at Kroger for nearly 15 years and holds a degree in Business Administration from Averett College.
“I bring to this candidacy a proven record of experience, dedication, honesty, and transparency,” she said. “I respectfully ask for your support and your vote on November 4. Together, let’s continue building a stronger Martinsville.”
