RIDGEWAY, Va. (rbs news now) — A months-long narcotics investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash after a traffic stop and subsequent home search.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Drug Interdiction Unit initiated a traffic stop on Greensboro Road for failure to obey a highway sign on July 10.

K9 Zajo was deployed and detected the presence of illegal narcotics.

Authorities said a search of the vehicle revealed suspected meth, cocaine, approximately 3 pounds of marijuana, and a firearm.

The two individuals in the vehicle were arrested.

Investigators then obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 700 block of Eggleston Falls Road in Ridgeway based on evidence from the stop and earlier surveillance.

The warrant was executed by the Henry County SWAT Team.

Authorities say the search uncovered a white powdery substance believed to be meth, several firearms, and approximately 10 pounds of marijuana.

Two additional suspects were arrested at the scene.

  • Possession of schedule I/II drug (cocaine)
  • Possession of schedule I/II drug with a firearm
  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Failure to obey highway sign

Dylan Keith Smith – $3,500 secured bond

  • Possession of schedule I/II drug (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of schedule I/II drug with a firearm
  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana

Efren Bravo-Gonzalez – No bond

  • Possession of schedule I/II drug with a firearm
  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Possession of a firearm by an undocumented immigrant

Juan Bravo-Morales – In the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

“This case is another example of how proactive law enforcement efforts and thorough investigative work help remove dangerous drugs and illegal firearms from our communities,” Sheriff Wayne Davis stated. “I commend the teamwork and commitment of our deputies who work daily to protect our communities.”

The investigation remains active, and additional charges are pending lab results.
