RIDGEWAY, Va. (rbs news now) — A male and female are dead following a domestic-related shooting on July 22, according to Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis.
Authorities are actively searching for a suspect who may have fled the scene with two young children.
The incident was reported around 1 p.m., when deputies responded to a home in the 300 block of Meeks Road in Ridgeway.
Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male and female.

“This appears to be a domestic-related incident,” Davis said. “We believe the suspect may have taken a 2-year-old and an 11-month-old from the scene.”
The sheriff added that the children may be in danger, and efforts are underway to determine whether the situation meets the criteria for an Amber Alert.
Authorities believe the suspect may have fled into North Carolina, as the home is located near the state line.
Virginia State Police, Sheriff Sam Page and the Rockingham County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office have joined the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation and search efforts.
