COLLINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A home invasion led to gunfire, a man being hurt, and the discovery of a large quantity of drugs and firearms at a Collinsville residence.

At around 5:09 a.m. on July 23, deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 3300 block of Sunset Road.

Arriving on scene minutes later, deputies say they found several doors to the home open, visible blood inside, and signs of forced entry.

A sweep of the residence revealed multiple spent shell casings, though no one was inside.

Just after the initial response, SOVAH Health in Martinsville contacted authorities to report a gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital.

The victim, identified as Antony Hagwood of the Sunset Road address, had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to authorities.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

The Sheriff’s Office said the preliminary investigation indicates that two unidentified suspects forcibly entered Hagwood’s home and began firing.

Hagwood was struck once but managed to return fire before fleeing and seeking medical attention.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence.

Inside, deputies found:

  • Over 10 pounds of marijuana
  • Prescription pills
  • Narcotics packaging materials
  • Multiple firearms, including one confirmed stolen
  • A sum of cash
  • Money counting machines

A second warrant was executed on the vehicle that transported Hagwood to the hospital.

That search found an additional firearm and marijuana.

No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain unidentified.

The investigation is ongoing.
