PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A person was airlifted to the hospital early Sunday morning following a crash on Pocket Road in the Hurt area of Pittsylvania County.

The Hurt Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle crash involving entrapment at approximately 12:53 a.m. on August 3.

Crews said they arrived on the scene and found a single vehicle that had struck a tree, with one person trapped inside.

Firefighters extricated the patient from the vehicle, and the individual was flown by Centra One medical helicopter to a local trauma center for treatment.

The condition of the patient has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
