HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A 67-year-old woman has been arrested after leaving a voicemail threatening to bomb any police facilities on Wednesday.
At around 12:42 p.m. on August 6, the Henry County Animal Services Shelter received a voicemail from a woman caller threatening to “get a bomb and bomb anything involving police.”
Animal services deputies and the shelter manager responded to assess the facility and determined there were no safety breaches.
Sheriff Wayne Davis said that no staff, animals, or civilians were in danger.
During the investigation, the phone number used to make the threat was traced to Carrie Jean Harlow of Henry County.
Warrants were obtained for her arrest on a charge of making a threat to bomb, according to Sheriff Davis.
Harlow was taken into custody without incident later that day and transported to the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
She was released on a $3,000 secured bond.
“The Henry County Sheriff’s Office takes all threats of this nature seriously and will continue to pursue charges against individuals who cause alarm and disrupt public safety,” Davis said.
