
DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — As of 2:15 p.m. Sunday, August 17, escapee Brett Parrish has been taken into custody in Pittsylvania County, according to the Danville Police Department.
Police thanked the community for submitting tips that aided in the search, and credited the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office for apprehending Parrish.

DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Danville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 44-year-old inmate who escaped from a work crew Tuesday afternoon.
Police said Brett Landon Parrish walked away from a worksite at H.B. Moorefield Park, 4550 Riverside Drive, around 12:45 p.m. on August 12.
He was last seen heading west on Riverside Drive.
Parrish is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a yellow t-shirt.
Authorities said Parrish is serving time for a probation violation with an underlying charge of burglary.
Officers are currently using K-9 units and aerial resources in the search.
Anyone with information about Parrish’s location is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 434-793-0000.
