
MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A North Carolina man is facing multiple charges after a brief vehicle pursuit in Martinsville on Monday night.
The chase began around 8 p.m. when officers attempted a traffic stop for a speeding violation, Captain Benjamin Peters of the Martinsville Police Department told rbs news now.
The driver, identified as Billy Joseph Myers, 37, of Mayodan, N.C., fled in a silver Nissan Sentra, going south on Memorial Boulevard for about 1.5 miles before losing control.
Captain Peter said the Nissan spun out and came to a stop on Ivy Street near the intersection with Memorial Boulevard.
Peters said no crashes, injuries, or property damage occurred.
Myers was taken into custody and charged with felony elude, driving under the influence, and reckless driving.
