PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Dry Fork man was killed early Monday in a crash on Route 844, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:42 a.m. on August 18, about two-tenths of a mile north of Route 703.

State Police said a 2022 Nissan Sentra was going south on Route 844 at a high rate of speed when it crossed the centerline, overcorrected, and ran off the right side of the road, striking a tree.

The driver, 37-year-old Kevin Leander Myers, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
