
STONEVILLE, N.C. (rbs news now) — A traffic stop Friday afternoon resulted in the arrest of two people and the seizure of a stolen handgun and suspected cocaine.
The stop occurred around 2 p.m. August 22 on South Henry Street near Golden Eagle Drive in Stoneville.
Officers said they made contact with the driver, Leynzi JoAnn Craig, 18, who was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
A passenger, Jason Landon Craig, 20, was also inside the vehicle.
Officers said probable cause was established to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of a stolen handgun and a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.
Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

Leynzi Craig was charged with:
- Felony possession of a stolen handgun
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
She is being held at the Rockingham County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond, with a court date set for September 3.
Jason Craig is facing felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
His court date is also set for September 3.
