HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A vehicle reported stolen out of Florida was recovered Friday after a police pursuit that began in Martinsville and ended in Henry County.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on September 5, Martinsville police received an alert from a Flock license plate reader camera indicating a stolen Lexus sedan had entered the city, Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis said.
Officers located the vehicle on Memorial Boulevard and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver refused to stop, leading officers north on Virginia Avenue at speeds reaching 80 mile per hour before turning onto Kings Mountain Road, according to Sheriff Davis.

A Henry County deputy then took over the pursuit and executed a PIT maneuver, forcing the vehicle off the highway.
A female driver and male passenger were detained without further incident.
The driver was taken to the Martinsville City Jail.
Davis said Martinsville police will release the charges and additional details related to the incident.
The Virginia State Police are working the crash investigation.
