
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A man has been charged with first-degree murder after his wife was found dead at their home Sunday night.
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 9-1-1 call at 7:51 p.m. September 14 in the Derby Road area of Gretna.
Deputies said they found 64-year-old Cynthia Rowland dead at her residence from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her husband, Lonnie Rowland, 66, of Derby Road, has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
He is being held without bond.
Cynthia Rowland’s body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
