PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Patrick Springs woman died Tuesday morning after a suspected medical emergency in Patrick County.

The crash occurred shortly before 5:30 a.m. September 16 on Pleasant View Drive at the intersection of Spring Road.

According to Virginia State Police, a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado going north on Spring Road attempted to turn left onto Pleasant View Road when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

The driver, Jessie Lea Plasters, 53, was wearing her seat belt.

State police believe she suffered a medical emergency while driving.

Plasters was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
