MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A Henry County man is facing multiple charges after a head-on collision in Martinsville on Sunday night.
Officers and emergency crews were called shortly before 9 p.m. September 21 to the intersection of Mulberry Road and Rives Road for a two-vehicle crash.
Martinsville police identified the at-fault driver as 42-year-old Christopher Wells.
Capt. Benjamin Peters said on Monday that Wells was driving a white Honda Accord that collided head-on with a Ford Fusion at the intersection.
Wells was checked by Martinsville Fire & EMS personnel in an ambulance but became unruly.

Officers took him out of the ambulance and had to carry him to a patrol vehicle, during which he yelled profanities and threatened to bite one of the officers’ genitals.
That incident was captured in a now-viral video recorded live at the scene by rbs news now.
Peters said EMS treated two other individuals at the scene for minor injuries but did not transport anyone to the hospital.
Wells has been charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, felony assault on law enforcement, felony possession of ammunition by a felon, two counts of obstruction of justice, and unreasonable refusal of a blood test for blood-alcohol content.
The crash remains under investigation.
