
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A serious three-vehicle crash late Wednesday night in Pittsylvania County left one driver trapped and several others injured.
The crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on October 15 in the 17000 block of Old Richmond Road.
Blairs Fire & Rescue said rescue engine 343, staffed with five members, and two transport units responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found three pickup trucks involved in the crash.
One driver was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters, who removed the driver’s door to reach the occupant.

EMS said they treated multiple patients at the scene.
One person was transported to the Blairs firehouse, where they were then flown by medical helicopter from the station’s helipad.
Engine 342 handled the landing zone operations during the transport.
The condition of those involved was not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
