HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its search for 14-year-old Zachary Wayne Wade Jr., who has been missing since October 7.

According to the sheriff’s office, Wade was last seen leaving the area of Blue Ridge Yacht Club Road on foot and has not returned home.

Deputies said they are actively following up on tips and leads from the community as the investigation continues.

“We have received numerous reports that he is with acquaintances that are assisting him with avoiding being located,” Sheriff Wayne Davis told rbs news now on October 17. “This is a very active investigation and we have checked numerous locations including Roanoke and North Carolina. We are receiving information daily and checking on every lead.”

Authorities reminded the public that harboring or aiding a juvenile who has left home without permission may be considered contributing to the delinquency of a minor under Virginia law.

Deputies ask anyone who may be assisting Wade to contact law enforcement immediately.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-656-4200, the non-emergency line at 276-638-8751, or 9-1-1.
