MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Voters in Martinsville and Henry County made their voices heard in Tuesday’s election, selecting new and returning leaders in key local and state races.

According to unofficial results from the Nov. 4, 2025, election:

  • Wren M. Williams (R) won the 47th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates
  • Eric J. Phillips (R) secured victory in the 48th District race
  • In Henry County, Jimmie L. “Jim” Adams was re-elected to represent the Blackberry District on the Board of Supervisors
  • Christopher L. Lawless won in the Collinsville District
  • Sherry Moran Vestal was elected to the Henry County School Board for the Blackberry District
  • In Martinsville’s city races, Patrick A. Flinn won the race for Commonwealth’s Attorney
  • Ruth L. Easley was re-elected as Commissioner of Revenue
  • Sheila G. Clark was elected Treasurer

Yvonne Rorrer, who ran against Delegate Wren Williams for Virginia’s 47th District seat, shared a message on social media after election results were announced.

“I may not have won this district, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to bed happier than the one who did,” Rorrer said. “This journey has been quite the adventure, and I’ve met some incredible people along the way — including our very first female governor of Virginia, Abigail Spanberger, and our new lieutenant governor, Ghazala Hashmi! I’ll be back. It’s an exciting evening in Virginia, and I’m proud to have been a part of it.”

Ray Reynolds, who challenged incumbent Jim Adams for the Blackberry District seat on the Henry County Board of Supervisors, shared a statement Tuesday night on social media following the election results.

“I want to thank everyone for your support,” Reynolds said. “I wish the people in Blackberry the best. My home will be for sale tomorrow. I will not live in a district that looks like a war zone. I feel sorry for the people who will suffer another four years. I cannot congratulate someone who has not done anything in 24 years. Blackberry has no leadership, and the last 24 years prove this. I have already told several people I am going to work on getting my house sold and move into a district that looks livable. No more community service and no more going to bat for others. I showed people what could happen, and they evidently like living in the conditions you see. The drug problem will only grow with nothing being done. I wish the people in Blackberry the best. I do thank the people who supported me. It’s a shame so many love seeing Blackberry the way it is.”

Jonathan Martin shared a message of unity Wednesday after losing to Sherry Moran Vestal for the Henry County School Board’s Blackberry District seat.

“Congratulations, Sherry! It’s been an honor to run alongside her. I want to thank everyone who supported me, encouraged me, and shared in this journey. Now it’s time for all of us to unite, because no matter the outcome, at the end of the day, our shared goal has always been to do what’s best for our children. Let’s support Sherry, pray for her, and continue working together to make Henry County Public Schools the best they can be!” Martin said.

Final certified results will be confirmed by local election officials in the coming days.
