McCray brings more than 30 years of experience in management, human resources, compliance, and organizational leadership across several industries, according to a news release.
A service-oriented leader, McCray is recognized for her collaborative approach and for using data and relationships to develop forward-thinking solutions, the release said.
She has experience in team development, managing personnel systems, and fostering positive workplace cultures that support employee success and organizational goals.
McCray has previously served on the Franklin County School Board and currently serves on the Blue Ridge Literacy Board.
“Her deep experience in human resources and organizational leadership, combined with her understanding of public education, make her an ideal fit for our division. I am confident she will provide strong guidance and support for our employees as we continue building a workplace rooted in trust, collaboration, and professional growth,” said Dr. Amy Blake-Lewis, Superintendent.
As Director of Human Resources, McCray will oversee personnel management, recruitment and retention, employee relations, and compliance for the division.
The release said her role will be key in supporting HCPS’ mission to attract, develop, and retain high-quality staff dedicated to student success.
McCray is expected to officially assume her duties later this month.
