BASSETT, Va. (rbs news now) — Two people were arrested Wednesday night following a drug bust at a Bassett home that was the site of a four-hour standoff last month.
A search warrant was executed around 8:30 p.m. on December 10 at 607 Longview Drive.
This came after the sheriff’s office VICE and Narcotics Interdiction Unit received numerous community complaints about suspected drug activity at the residence, according to a news release.
Sheriff Wayne Davis, speaking to rbs news now at the scene, said investigators had been monitoring the home since the earlier November 11 barricade incident, when three people, including Sarah Burnette Foster, were taken into custody.
“When we were here the first time, we discovered a substantial amount of evidence that led to the usage of narcotics here,” Sheriff Davis said.
Investigators said they found meth, suspected fentanyl and suboxone during the search on Wednesday night.
Two individuals were detained and later charged.

Foster, 37, of the residence faces a possession of schedule I or II drugs charge.
She is being held without bond.
Pierre Quartez Scales, 35, of Martinsville was charged with resisting arrest/obstructing justice without threats and possession of schedule III drugs.
He is being held on a $2,500 secured bond.
“We made a promise to the community when I took office as sheriff that we make it very uncomfortable for the criminal element to survive,” Davis said. “If you’re going to sell drugs, it’s not going to be here in Henry County.”
The seized narcotics will undergo laboratory testing.
The investigation is ongoing.
