BASSETT, Va. (rbs news now) — Authorities conducted a narcotics search warrant on December 14 in the 1500 block of Crestridge Road in Bassett.
Sheriff Wayne Davis said the operation was the result of an investigation initiated by the sheriff’s office patrol division, which works closely with the vice and drug interdiction units.
“Our patrol officers developed information earlier today that narcotics had been distributed from this residence,” Sheriff Davis told rbs news now at the scene. “We verified that information and executed a search warrant.”
Davis stated that the operation was still ongoing, with law enforcement actively searching the residence for evidence.

He added that additional charges could be pending based on the investigation’s findings.
One of those detained is currently in custody, wanted out of another jurisdiction for felony drug charges.
The sheriff also noted the presence of children at the scene, who were being kept warm in a vehicle.
“We are working with Child Protective Services to ensure their safety,” he said.
Officials are expected to release further details as the case develops.
