MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Two people were injured Wednesday night after a vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a Martinsville home, authorities said.

Crews were dispatched around 9 p.m. to the 700 block of Stultz Road for a reported vehicle-versus-house incident.

The vehicle left the road and struck the kitchen area of the residence.

The crash caused extensive structural damage to the home, along with significant damage to the contents inside the kitchen.

A man and a woman were injured in the crash and received medical attention, Martinsville police told rbs news now.

Family members said a man who was inside the home at the time of the crash was in the living room and was not injured.

Martinsville Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
