MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A 15th person has been arrested in connection with a 2025 shooting death on Forest Street that claimed the life of a Martinsville woman, according to a Monday news release.

Officers responded Aug. 12, 2025, to a large disturbance in the 500 block of Forest Street.

Police said they found Crystal Galloway Jordan, 39, of Martinsville, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.

She was transported to SOVAH Health, where she later died.

In the weeks following the homicide, detectives conducted numerous interviews and gathered evidence that led them to conclude a large group of individuals had conspired to confront and assault a smaller group of Martinsville residents, police said.

That group traveled to Forest Street and initiated a violent altercation in which firearms were brandished and discharged, ultimately resulting in Jordan’s death.

As a result of the initial investigation, 11 people were charged and arrested for malicious wounding by mob, police said.

Further investigation led to the arrests of Nashawn Lee Corbett, Micah Aaron Holmes and Kwaheim Zaquon Hairston on first-degree murder charges, according to the release.

Detectives later identified a fourth suspect believed to have played a central role in the homicide.

Kwashaun Awanta Hairston, a 22-year-old Danville resident, was arrested Jan. 9 on a charge of first-degree murder and is being held without bond, police said.

The case remains under active investigation.
