HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Authorities seized meth and fentanyl Friday while executing two narcotics search warrants in the 300 block of Wingfield Orchard Road, according to Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis.
Sheriff Davis said the warrants were executed at two residences and stemmed from a traffic stop conducted earlier in the day by the sheriff’s office Narcotics Interdiction Unit.
According to Davis, information and narcotics recovered during the traffic stop led investigators to seek the warrants.
While the searches were still in the early stages, Sheriff Davis said deputies had already made significant seizures.
“What I can tell you right now is we’ve already seized nearly two pounds of methamphetamine and multiple ounces of fentanyl,” Davis told rbs news now at the scene.

The sheriff added that the fentanyl seized amounts to “roughly about 14,000 lethal doses.”
Davis praised his deputies, noting the operation took place as the county prepares for an approaching winter storm.
“It’s been all hands on deck getting ready for this potentially severe winter storm, but yet we’re still out here serving the community in other ways,” he said. “I just want to say how proud I am of my team out here.”
One individual was taken into custody from the original traffic stop, Davis said.
At this time, the only confirmed charge is felonious assault on a law enforcement officer.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released as they become available.
