PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A crash claimed the life of a child Sunday evening in Pittsylvania County.

The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 25 on Moorefield Bridge Road near of Red Bud Lane.

Virginia State Police said a 2024 Can-Am Defender side-by-side was going south when the vehicle lost control and overturned, partially ejecting the passenger.

The driver, Corey Michael Pullin, 35, of Danville, was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The passenger, identified as 7-year-old Briggs Pullin, was partially ejected and transported by EMS to a hospital, where he later died, according to police.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, state police said.

Charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
