MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A Henry County man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian, according to Martinsville police.
Officers responded at about 11:18 p.m. Jan. 24 to the 1000 block of Spruce Street to conduct a well-being check on a 56-year-old man who was found lying along the roadway.
An investigation determined the man had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Sovah Health in Martinsville and later transferred to Carilion Hospital in Roanoke.
Police said he has since been released.

With the help of Flock Safety cameras and surveillance footage from local businesses, investigators identified the suspect vehicle as a 2007 Nissan four-door sedan.
On Jan. 27, officers located the vehicle at an address within the city.
Following further investigation, warrants were obtained for Gervelle Lewaun Kidd on a charge of hit and run resulting in injury, police said.
Kidd was arrested Jan. 29 and is being held without bail at the Martinsville City Jail.
