PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Danville woman died Tuesday night following a crash on Martinsville Highway in Pittsylvania County, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred Feb. 3 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Pineview Road.

State Police said a 2006 Pontiac Vibe was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control, ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned, ejecting the driver.

The driver was identified as Brandie Lee Fisk, 33.

Authorities said Fisk was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

She was transported to Sovah Health in Danville, where she later died from her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
