FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A 21-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Franklin County, according to the Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at around 1:20 p.m. Feb. 18 on Booker T. Washington Highway near High Meadows Drive.

State police said a 2006 Chevrolet C4 was going north when it ran off the right side of the road.

The vehicle then overcorrected, crossed the road, traveled down an embankment and overturned, ejecting the passenger.

The passenger, Marcus Dillard Keen, of New Castle, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, authorities said.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries.

Charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
