PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Pittsylvania County man was killed Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred March 11 at about 10 p.m. on Old Richmond Road near Reeves Road in Pittsylvania County.

State police said a 2000 Lexus RX-300 was going east on Old Richmond Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver was identified as Stephen Lee Buergey, 65, of Pittsylvania County.

Police said Buergey was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
