MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A sign announcing a new Five Below store has been posted in Martinsville, signaling the discount retailer’s planned arrival in the city.

The new store is expected to be located at The Village of Martinsville, formerly Liberty Fair Mall, on Commonwealth Boulevard.

A sign posted recently says the store is hiring.

rbs news now has reached out to Five Below for additional details about the project, including a possible opening timeline.

The development follows earlier reporting by rbs news now when online speculation suggested Five Below could be moving into the former JOANN Fabric and Crafts space.

At the time, city officials initially said no inquiries or permit requests had been made.

However, on Dec. 4, 2025, Martinsville Building Official and Zoning Administrator Kris Bridges said that he had approved and issued a sign permit for Five Below at the location.
