rbs news now is a local independent online news source for the cities of Martinsville and Danville and the counties of Henry, Patrick, Franklin, Pittsylvania in VA, and Rockingham in NC, was established by Luis Romero in the summer of 2024.

Romero started his career in media, volunteering for Fuller Memorial Baptist Church. As a teenager, he started as a reporter for BTW21 the same year of his high school graduation, before moving on to create rbs in 2024 and partner with Star News Corporation. Luis has been recognized with the Adam & Alison Award for Media Excellence in February of 2022, and has been on the Virginia School Board Association Media Honor Roll three years in a row.

Romero is well-known in the region as a credible and fair reporter. Romero has experience working in both hard and soft news. In his free time, Romero spends time with his two nephews and his niece, watching movies, and trying out new restraunts. With a soft spot for his community, he commits to working all hours of the night to keep the public informed on crime, politics, and events going on in the region.
