ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (rbs news now) — Daniel Hunter Martin has been apprehended and is in custody, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday night.

The department thanked the Stoneville Police Department, Mayodan Police Department, the Eden Police Department and their Officer D. Buck, Officer Burns and K-9 Bary.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (rbs news now) — Authorities have obtained an additional felony warrant in connection with a Sunday home invasion and theft in the Eden area and are now searching for two suspects who may be traveling together, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said a warrant for felony aiding and abetting has been issued for Megan Casteen Devaney, 32, following further investigation into the break-in reported in the Whip-O-Hills subdivision near Longhook Road and Harrington Highway in Eden.

The case is connected to previously issued felony warrants for Daniel Hunter Martin, 33, who is also wanted in connection with the incident.

Authorities said they are actively working to locate both Devaney and Martin.

Investigators believe the two may be together and possibly traveling in a white Acura TLX four-door vehicle that was previously displaying North Carolina registration LLX-585.

The sheriff’s office noted the license plate may have been changed.

The vehicle was last seen in the area of Highway 65 and Witty Road in the Bethany community near Reidsville, according to the sheriff’s office.

Devaney is described as a white woman, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Authorities have previously said Martin may be armed.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (rbs news now) — Authorities are searching for a 33-year-old man wanted in connection with a reported home invasion and theft in the Eden area, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the incident was reported April 12 in the Whip-O-Hills subdivision near Longhook Road and Harrington Highway in Eden.

A search involving the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Eden Police Department was conducted following the report, but the suspect was not located.

Authorities later identified the suspect as Daniel Hunter Martin and obtained multiple felony warrants for his arrest.

Investigators also executed a search warrant at a residence on Eden Church Road in Madison, but Martin was not found.

The sheriff’s office said an additional search of the surrounding area also failed to locate him.

Martin has been entered into the National Crime Information Center database as a wanted person.

He faces charges including felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony larceny of a firearm.

Authorities describe Martin as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He may be armed.
