HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Multiple people were detained and illegal drugs were seized following a coordinated narcotics operation in Axton.

Sheriff Wayne Davis said deputies executed three search warrants Wednesday morning in the 7100 and 7300 blocks of Axton Road, as well as at a residence on Friendly Road.

“What we can tell you at this point is this is part of a larger operation with our counterparts, the Eden, North Carolina Police Department, who has also executed multiple search warrants this morning,” Sheriff Davis said in a video posted to the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

Investigators recovered several types of suspected illegal narcotics.

“Across these search warrants, we can tell you there have been multiple suspects who have been detained, as well as evidence recovered, such as multiple ounces of suspected cocaine, cracked cocaine, and methamphetamine,” Davis said.

He also encouraged residents to report concerns to law enforcement.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details, including possible charges, have not yet been released.
