HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Two people were injured early Saturday morning in a collision in Collinsville, according to Virginia State Police.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday to Virginia Avenue in front of the Econo Lodge for a reported bicycle-versus-vehicle crash.

The collision involved a bicycle and a white Chevrolet sedan that had significant damage to its windshield.

State police told rbs news now at the scene that the Henry County Department of Public Safety transported both the bicyclist and the driver of the Chevrolet to a hospital.

Police said the injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

An air ambulance was requested but declined the flight because of weather conditions.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.

State police are investigating the crash.
