HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A narcotics investigation led to a search warrant and the arrests of two men Thursday evening, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 6:20 p.m. Sept. 3, the sheriff’s office SWAT team executed a narcotics-related search warrant at a residence in the 1800 block of Carver Road, Martinsville.

The investigation began after the sheriff’s office and Martinsville Police Department received information about suspected drug activity in the area.

Authorities then began investigating the reported activity and developed evidence indicating narcotics were being distributed from the residence.

The sheriff’s office worked with the police department during the investigation and obtained a search warrant for the property.

Multiple people were detained while investigators searched the residence.

Authorities said investigators seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and cash.

Two men were arrested in connection with the investigation.

Keith Allen Brim, 41, was arrested on outstanding warrants from the City of Martinsville charging him with two counts of probation violation and contempt of court.

Eugene Hairston Jr., 63, was arrested on three outstanding probation violation warrants from the City of Martinsville.

Sheriff Wayne Davis said his office will continue working with law enforcement partners to address illegal drug distribution.

“Those who choose to distribute illegal drugs in our communities should understand that we will continue working with our law enforcement partners to identify them and hold them accountable,” Sheriff Davis said. “Protecting the safety and well-being of our citizens and our communities remains one of our highest priorities.”

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Additional charges may be filed as investigators continue examining evidence seized during the search, authorities said.
